The Clever Rabbit is a terrific vegetarian cafe tucked away on 124th street. It has an awesome vibe and laid-back, friendly service.
They have a limited menu, but everything on it is pretty great. Any of their main courses are $12 dollars and come with a side of salad, salsa and chips or soup. Their breakfast items are all $9. For such an economical price and such delicious house-made food, you really can’t go wrong. For lunch my friend had the tofu scramble and I got the vegetarian donair.
…I am not a vegetarian, but I feel as though I would be extremely excited to be able to order a no-meat donair if I was. This thing was so tasty. I’m usually not a huge fan of any vegetarian meals”disguised” as meat, but I thought this donair was delicious. Their soup of the day was creamy tomato which was really good as well. They had some great vegan baking too, but I was far too full to eat anything else. One thing to note is that it can take a bit of time for orders to come out; this is likely because everything is made from scratch. If you’re on a tight timeline, it might be best to skip out and come back when you can relax and take your time.
The Clever Rabbit is a great spot to check out, whether you’re vegetarian or not. Great price, service and food!
